In our culture we have tendency to swing between ignoring and repressing our emotions to over-identifying with them. Yogi Bhajan taught that the emotions are the sensory system of the soul – they serve us when we are guided by them but destroy us when we are ruled by them. He said ‘Emotions are very important, but any mistake you ever make will occur when you become attached to your emotions as reality.’

Meditation develops our ability to consciously watch our minds and emotions to potentially learn from them, without identifying with them. We can do this by acknowledging and accepting all our emotions with self-love, as a feedback system to understand ourselves and help keep ourselves well. Meditation develops our intuition so that we can navigate a balanced path between our minds and hearts. In this workshop we will practice movement and meditation techniques to balance our energy, mind and heart and release emotions of the past.
