Counselling

What is Counselling and Therapy?
Counselling is a place for you to talk and figure out what’s going on for you. It’s a place where you can explore strategies to help cope with stressful situations. There is nothing too small or too big to bring to therapy. We have three counsellors working at Bellenden Therapies, so if you are unsure of which one would suit you best, why not read about their styles and then contact them.

Maria Veiga

Maria is a qualified counsellor, having graduated with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Lambeth College in 2008. Since 2005 she has worked at the Cassel Centre in Lewisham with clients from many walks of life and from various ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds.

  • She works integratively, bringing together her training in the Psychodynamic and Person Centred approaches. She has also studied Psychosynthesis privately with one of her College tutors. She is an intuitive, grounded, caring person, able to hold or challenge clients as necessary. She prefers working long-term building a strong, trusting relationship to help clients achieve deeper understanding and transformation, however she can also work effectively on a short-term basis for specific results.
  • Maria is also a gifted healer. She trained with the NFSH and has done Reiki I & II as well. As a healer she works intuitively and her services are offered in the spirit of integrity.
She comes from a purely service orientated perspective.  Maria says ‘I am not here to change or save anyone; I am sharing my gifts with joy. I agree to treat each individual I approach with respect for their own beliefs, humility and holding the space for them to transform.’
  • Please note: I offer healing as a complementary therapy. For all health matters please also seek your Doctor’s advice and treatment.
  • You can find Maria at http://www.knowingyourself.co.uk/

  • She also runs a Spiritual Group one Wednesday a month.

Sarah Cavaliere

Being a parent can be difficult and overwhelming. You may be struggling with a toddler’s tantrums, a challenging teenager who is experimenting in risk-taking behaviour or anxious about your child’s wellbeing at home or school. As an adult, some of this difficulty can arise from our own experience of being parented and our childhood history.

Relationship difficulties with your partner may result in separation or divorce and this is another area where Sarah can support you and your family through emotional distress.

Through non-judgemental, confidential counselling sessions Sarah supports you in unpicking these issues and exploring how they impact on your ability to parent with more confidence. This will improve both your own emotional wellbeing and your relationships with those around you.

Sarah is a registered member of the BACP (MBACP 654000) and works according to the BACP Ethical Guidelines.

Sarah has six years post-qualified experience counselling parents and children.

Her fee is £50 per session.

To arrange an initial assessment meeting, please call 07721 591 636 or email stcavaliere@googlemail.com. You can also contact Sarah via Bellenden Therapies, 147a Bellenden Road, SE15 4DH, 020 7732 1417, contact@bellendentherapies.co.uk
